The Cambridge CAE (ADVANCED) exam has 5 parts:

1 - Use of English [80 questions in 90 minutes]
  • Part 1 - 1 multiple choice cloze with 15 questions.  SHOW ME!
  • Part 2 - 1 open cloze with 15 questions.  SHOW ME!
  • Part 3 - 1 error correction text with 15 questions.  SHOW ME!
  • Part 4 - 2 short texts with 15 deriviative questions.  SHOW ME!
  • Part 5 - 1 short text of replacing words with 13 questions.  SHOW ME!
  • Part 6 - 1 short text sentence completion with 6 questions.  SHOW ME!

    2 - Reading [52 questions in 75 minutes]

    3 - Speaking [approximately 10 questions in 15 minutes]

    4 - Writing [2 questions in 120 minutes]
  • Part 1 - An obligatory question on usually a i) report or a ii) letter for 1 hour.  SHOW ME!
  • Part 2 - A choice of 4 questions, usually i) letter, ii) memo, iii) proposal, iv) report or v) article for 1 hour.  SHOW ME!

    5 - Listening [34 questions in 45 minutes]
