How to Win Friends and Influence People is just as useful today as it was when it was first published, because Dale Carnegie had an understanding of human nature that will never be outdated. Financial success, Carnegie believed, is due 15 percent to professional knowledge and 85 percent to "the ability to express ideas, to assume leadership, and to arouse enthusiasm among people." He teaches these skills through underlying principles of dealing with people so that they feel important and appreciated. He also emphasizes fundamental techniques for handling people without making them feel manipulated. Carnegie says you can make someone want to do what you want them to by seeing the situation from the other person's point of view and "arousing in the other person an eager want." You learn how to make people like you, win people over to your way of thinking, and change people without causing offense or arousing resentment. For instance, "let the other person feel that the idea is his or hers," and "talk about your own mistakes before criticizing the other person." Carnegie illustrates his points with anecdotes of historical figures, leaders of the business world, and everyday folks.

Astrology
The first thing that the would-be astrologer should do is discard the idea that
all forms of astrology is superstition mingled with the paranormal which can
only be understood by mystics steeped in occult lore. Today, some astrology is
presented this way, but this is not true "traditional astrology". Did
you know that Astrology was considered science in man's early history? And some
still do,with good reason
(you will find out why later). Also until just a short time ago it was
considered the same as astronomy, an extension of it if you will, and uses the
same tables as do the astronomer and the navigator.
Do not expect that
horoscopes (from anyone at all) tells you your irreversible future!. We are not lame puppets dangling on some mad God's string!
Though God knows our future, rest assured we have not been stripped of our free
will! Astrology only tells us tendency, personality and probability. Though
these are very strong and WILL occur if unchecked, it is still not the end all
and be all. What astrologers try to do is to describe tendencies in the
characters of individuals, to suggest dangers, challenges and opportunities
which may come to them, and to advise how to react to those circumstances when
they do arrive.
The Dates of the Astrological Signs , the
"Zodiac"
Although we are use to our
year beginning on January 1, it was only in the middle of the eighteenth
century that it was decided that the year should begin then. Before then
December 25 began the year, and after the Conquest of the
The dates assigned to the
signs of the zodiac are as follows, although different "astrologers"
assign slightly different dates, the ones who use the constellations use
significantly different dates. The table below gives the dates and the most
usual variations of each sign. The approximate dates between which the sun
appears in the constellation each year are shown. Neither the signs nor the constellations
change places at exactly midnight sharp GMT on the dates given below, so at the
beginning or end of each period you may see a variation of up to a day.
An individual born into the
main portion of any of the periods below, can say with
safety that they are a Gemini or a Leo, etc. But if your nativity took place on
one of the borderline dates (know as a "cusp") you will need to know
the exact time and latitude/longitude of the event to be certain which is your
exact Sun sign (as it is called).

A compendium of four separate documents. These books cover some of the special techniques Bruce Lee used to develop Jeet Kune Do, including his world famous "one inch punch". The "one inch punch" was a combination of the skills in this publication which enabled Bruce Lee to position his hand ONE INCH from an opponent, and with no drawing back of the fist, either KNOCK HIS OPPONENT OUT or SEND THEM SPRAWLING! The EXPLOSIVE POWER and MASSIVE STRENGTH techniques that YOU NEED are contained in this book... If you already study a martial art, this publication contains essential information that you can incorporate into your particular art. I, and my family, use these techniques within our training for Karate, Kung Fu, JiuJitsu and Krav Maga. Developing strength and fitness is essential to all martial arts - more importantly, all of these publications contain techniques that you can use WITHOUT SPECIAL EQUIPMENT! All sounds too good to be true? Well this is where it gets better.... Not only do you get these books, you also get full resell and resale rights. Sample information from these publications.... The scientific explanation showing how it is possible to develop the skill required to break blocks of wood, etc - but which also relates to how to put MORE POWER into a punch!
Any martial artist who has ever struck a board with improper hand technique can attest to the physical pain associated with such impact. The human had is a complex system of bones connected by tissue, and much can be said about the importance of proper hand alignment in breaking. From the standpoint of physical science, however, what is crucial about hand position upon impact is that all formulae for force, momentum, and deformation energy are for a given unit of area. By minimizing the amount of striking surface on the hand involved in collision with the board, a karateka minimizes the area of the target to which force and energy are transferred and therefore maximizes the amount of force and energy transferred per unit area. The Bruce Lee Training Secret. Martial Arts is much more than the physical application of movement, it is the mental understanding of how, and why, you are carrying out these movements: "No matter what you want to do, don't be nervous (you should not let your muscles nor your mind be effected by nerves). Just keep calm. No illusion and no imagination, but to apprehend the actual situation you are in and find a way to deal with it. No excessive action is needed. Just keep your body and mind relaxed to deal with the outside emergency." The importance of improving your speed..
A good fighter is one who can hit his opponent quicker, harder, without much perceptible effort, and yet avoid being hit. He doesn't only possess a pair of fast hands and feet and quick body movement, but he has other qualities such as non-telegraphic moves, good coordination, perfect balance and keen awareness. Although some people are endowed with a few of these qualities, most of these attributes are developed through hard training. Games and Drills that can be used to improve speed and accuracy An excellent child's game that is fun and can be played with anyone is the "slapping" match. Extend your arm fully in front of you with your hand outstretched. Make sure your thumb is on the top and hold it vertically. When your partner swings his hand to slap yours, jerk your hand upward and toward you, trying to avoid contact. You let him do the slapping until he misses, then reverse roles. Much more including detailed routines for training that can be followed without the purchase of additional equipment "This is isometric training for power punching, It was one of Lee’s favorite drills because it built speed and punching power at different ranges." To do this, you can use a jump rope, a karate belt or a strand of rope.
To begin, assume a fighting stance and hold the rope in both hands. Place your left hand behind your back, wrap the other end around your shoulder and throw a short-range punch. Hold it for five seconds, extend your punch to ¾ distance, hold it for five seconds, extend it to full range and hold. For each arm, do five sets of five reps. Whether you are interested in improving your own Martial Art techniques (and let's be honest, all Martial Artists should always be interested in improving technique!), or whether you want to know how to add power to your punches, improve your fitness or understand how Bruce Lee approached his art, then this is the publication for you. And all for only £0.99! As always, you should ensure that you consult a doctor before undertaking any physical exercise, and you should ensure that you carry out these exercises under the supervision of a trained expert, ideally a martial arts instructor to ensure that you are getting the most benefit from the routines. His Holiness Sri Swami Sivananda Saraswati is, as it were, an ornament of not only the glorious Himalayas and India but of the entire world. From the cool heights of his Himalayan Ashram, “Ananda Kutir,” the great Yogi stood as a mighty dynamo radiating Divine Love, Joy and Peace to millions upon millions of bleeding hearts all over the world, a Yogi, who shines as a brilliant pole-star in the spiritual firmament of the universe, guiding the tired and restless traveller towards the haven of Peace, Bliss and Knowledge. As a great saint and philosopher, his spotless purity, saintliness of life, magnetic and voluminous writings were unparalleled in record; he was not only an eminent and popular author of Hindu religious and philosophical subjects, but is an authority on those subjects. He was not only a man of letters and vast erudition, but also one who had in a full measure realised the incalculable benefits of Yogic practices in the course of a strenuous struggle of over fifteen years of intense dispassion and rigorous austerities in the holy regions of the Himalayas. Moreover, his priceless writings through the medium of some of the well-known and influential newspapers, magazines and journals not only in India but also abroad and in America coupled with his own unique and powerful personality and realisation have won for him an enviable place of honour in every spiritually, religiously and philosophically inclined home in India. In fact, if the political India of the present day can be proud of at least one Gandhi, the spiritual India can be reasonably proud of at least one Sivananda!
The object with which this book is published is twofold. Year in and year out large numbers of Europeans and Americans, men and women, came out to India to learn Yoga under an Adept and practice the same in India itself. In the course of their endless wanderings and searches for such Adepts in Yoga, these people had no other alternative but to resort to the Himalayan Ashram of Swami Sivananda. But unfortunately owing to several causes these travellers could not remain long in this country. They went back home learning something here and something there, in bits, but nothing from one Yogi only, which alone could be said to be of some solid and practical utility to them. The Westerners, interested in Yogic practices, had naturally to take resort to books and other literature on the subject, which were either unintelligible to them or, as was more often than not, had been written by persons whose aim in writing books was, in ninety-nine cases out of every hundred, to show off their learning rather than to teach Yoga and make the subject intelligible and interesting to the public. This is the difference between books written by most writers and those by Swami Sivananda. Moreover, unlike several others, Swami Sivananda Saraswati was a practical Yogi, who fully realised the fruits of Yoga and was therefore best suited to write books on the subject from his own practical experience. The present book has been specially designed by the author keeping in mind the needs of the students of Yoga in Europe and America, who need a practical but non-technical presentation of the subject in a language which is accessible to the beginner in the path. We hope the book will amply serve this most sacred purpose in view. iv May the unfailing blessings of Swami Sivananda pour forth in profusion over the heads of all the readers in the West and East, nay, North and South, and lead them on to Satchidananda which every one is seeking at heart!
